๐Ÿ•Š Justice and Peace

Welcome to Justice & Peace

The Justice & Peace group raises awareness of justice and peace issues affecting those locally, nationally and globally. We try to put our Faith into Action through different acts and campaigns related to justice and peace. Bishop Patrick talks of this as missionary discipleship.

Previously we have supported the foodbank in Coalville and organisations supporting the homeless in Coalville and the Falcon Centre in Loughborough.

In 2020, the Nottingham diocese became part of Caritas an international global network supporting humanitarian service. CAFOD works overseas and the Church in England & Wales is looking to develop a counterpart here. More information is available here.

In Nottingham Diocese, Caritas will continue to offer ways to share in work for justice, peace and care of creation. Find out more about Caritas by clicking here

There are 6 priorities that have been identified through work that has taken place in parishes which has led to the Imagine workshops being established.

  • Building communities of missionary disciples
  • Environmental issues
  • Poverty and dignity
  • Asylum seekers and refugees
  • Modern slavery and human trafficking
  • Tackling social isolation.

If you are interested in being part of this group or just want to find out more please contact the parish office for more information.
