Newsletter 1/2 February - Ordinary Time 4 (A)
In the month of February we're experimenting with a new format of Newsletter using a pre-printed colour A3 Redemptorist publication entitled 'Sunday Message' on one side that contains the weekend's Readings, other key Mass texts and a scriptural reflection on one side and our Parish's news on the other. Do let Fr David or Sue know what you think? Click here to view this weekend's Parish Newsletter.
Falcon Centre Appeal
The Falcon Centre, in Loughborough, offers shelter to homeless young people (16-24) male and female from our area. As a charity it really struggles financially and each young person is given £1.00 per day to feed themselves. As a community we gave the centre a donation at Christmas to provide some well needed treats for the residents for which they were extremely grateful. We would like to continue to help and support this very worthy cause by holding a trolley appeal during February. The following items would be really useful; Wooly hats, gloves and scarf, Socks, Shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste, Food cupboard items e.g pasta, tea, coffee, sugar, beans, tinned meat/fish/fruit, cereal, cooking sauces, ketchup, Baking items e.g. flour, caster sugar, dried fruit, Sweets/chocolate. Thank you all for the wonderful support you have given in the past to our trolley appeals. The trolley will be at the back of church from this weekend.

Fr David's Induction Mass
At our 10am Mass on Thursday morning, Fr Colin (our Dean) very kindly popped back to induct me as Parish Priest here at St Wilfrid's. This involved my public Profession of Faith and the taking of various Oaths. This is a canonical procedure just to make sure all is above board and proper as I begin my ministry here in the parish... we even had a few chocolates & a glass of wine to ensure an even sweeter taste to the canons!
